We’re back with another issue of Komikal Digest!

After a long holiday week filled with family, friends, and travel, this issue will be a bit shorter. While the length is condensed, the insights provided are still packed with value for those aspiring to enter the creator economy. We hope you enjoy!

Business Gems

The Three Rules of YouTube (According to Colin and Samir):

  1. If they don’t click, they don’t watch.

    • A compelling title and thumbnail are crucial to attracting viewers.

    • Ask yourself: What makes you click on a video?

    • This principle also applies to Instagram Carousels, Reels, TikToks, etc.

  2. Respect their time.

    • If you’ve earned their click, honor their time by delivering the value promised.

    • Develop a strong hook to grab attention and build curiosity within the first few seconds (or minutes) of your video.

    • Use viewership analytics to identify areas for improvement:

      • Track the first 7 seconds.

      • Analyze the first 30 seconds.

      • Monitor Average Viewing Duration (AVD) to see how long people stay engaged.

  3. Do you want more stuff like this?

    • Always ask yourself: Who am I making this for? Why would they watch it?

    • If you aim to monetize, create content that aligns with what your audience wants.

    • Consistently deliver videos that match their preferences, building a catalog of content they’ll return to.

The Comics Corner

The sequel to The Batman has been delayed yet again, now slated for an October 2027 release. This means there will be a five-year gap between the first film and its follow-up, leaving fans divided.

Some fans understand the time and commitment needed to craft a well-written story, while others are frustrated by the long wait. Originally set for release in 2025, then 2026, and now 2027, the film risks losing the momentum built by Matt Reeves’ Batman universe and Colin Farrell’s critically acclaimed performance in The Penguin.

Momentum is crucial, especially in today’s competitive comic book movie climate. Fans who were initially unsure about the Pattinson-led universe were growing excited after The Penguin. Now, the question is: Can they maintain that interest for another two years?

Here at Komikal, we think a series to bridge the gap would be a smart move.

What do you think? Will you still be interested in The Batman 2 in 2027, or will the delay have diminished your excitement?

Quick Reviews

James Gunn’s Creature Commandos

This series continues to balance crass humor with meaningful interactions while pushing the story forward. With new characters being introduced and others being eliminated, we’re intrigued to see how Gunn plans to conclude Creature Commandos in a way that leaves fans satisfied and eager for more from the DCU.

Words to Live By

"Do not mock a pain that you have not endured"

This one speaks for itself. Be cautious when judging or mocking others, especially when you lack the experience or understanding of their struggles.
